Set, just inland, along the river Temo. Bosa is a truly stunning view on a hot summers day, with its tall thin houses all painted various pastel colours, leading up to the Malaspina castle.
The town has lots of good shops and the maze of narrow cobbled streets take you up to the castle where there is a wonderful view, inside the castle there is the church Nostra Signora di Regnos Altos where there are some recently exposed fresco's.
The river Temo give another aspect to the town being one of the few navigable rivers in Sardinia and has the remains of an old Tannery on its banks opposite the town. The river can be followed up to the Roman church of San Pietro.
At the river mouth there is the resort of Bosa Marina built around the lovely sheltered bay it is a town that comes to life in summer with lots of bars and restaurants serving the sun worshipers from the beach.
Just an easy 20 minutes walk along the river Temo. Or 2 minutes by car, is the beachside resort of Bosa Marina.
With a real holiday feel this area is centred around the huge swathe of award winning beach. The beach is set in a small bay so is protected from waves and has a gently shelving beach, leading into crystal clear waters. It is Ideal for families with children. There are life guards in the summer months.
Back from then beach there is an abundance of good restaurants serving superb fresh seafood and typical dishes along with old favourites. There are beachside bars that also serve snacks and light lunches. on the beach there is a wind surfing/kite surfing school. they also hire pedlos and kayaks.
